Advanced Conducting Academy
The Advanced Conducting Academy is an intensive two-week conducting course for advanced student conductors, emerging conductors, music educators and working professionals. It offers unequaled flexibility and diversity to craft a program of study tailored to each student’s specific interests and goals. During the first week conductors concentrate on music for Classical sized orchestra. The second week gives conductors opportunities to conduct virtuoso repertoire for large orchestra from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Advanced Conducting Academy Repertoire
The repertoire list is quite extensive. It includes pieces that vary widely in terms of period, style and level of difficulty. Conductors select four pieces or movements for Classical orchestra and four for Romantic orchestra. The faculty assigns three of the four selections for each week.
